Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Rams is a German entrepreneur, professor, and investor with expertise in renewable energy, sustainable business, and telecommunications. He is the Co-Founder and CEO of Africa GreenTec AG, a company that develops sustainable energy solutions for off-grid regions in Sub-Saharan Africa. In his role, he spearheads both operational and financial strategies, utilizing innovative financing models to expand Africa GreenTec’s impact across multiple countries.

In academia, Prof. Rams has taught Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the Provadis School of International Management and Technology from 2012 to 2022. In 2023, he joined the European Institute of Management (EIM) in Malta, where he continues to focus on sustainable business models and entrepreneurial development. His academic contributions also include guest professorships, such as at Maastricht School of Management and Mercator School of Management, and a collaborative research project with the Technical University of Munich exploring factors for sustainable startups.

Wolfgang’s entrepreneurial journey spans over two decades, with his experience rooted in engineering and business. He holds degrees in Telecommunications Engineering from RWTH Aachen and in Business Engineering from FernUniversität in Hagen. He also earned a doctorate (Dr. rer. oec.) in Customer Retention from the University of Duisburg-Essen, with published research on determinants of customer loyalty in telecommunications. As a serial entrepreneur and business angel, he has founded or co-founded over seven companies, including Consmart GmbH, an innovation consulting firm, and the mobile brand Cerafon.

Throughout his career, Wolfgang has accumulated extensive expertise in corporate strategy, product management, venture capital, and clean tech. He also holds two patents and has contributed to impactful publications on customer retention and sustainable business practices.
