Evolution Through Inclusion

Ryan Phillips-Page delivered an inspirational TEDx Talk entitled “Evolution Through Inclusion” at TEDx Fiesole in Forence, Italy which articulates his motivation, and why he founded Transformative Projects and Transformative Ventures. In his talk, he postulates why we should all care about creating a more socially just and healthy planet, and highlights some ideas we should consider to move us in a more compassionate direction in the pursuit of evolving our shared humanity.

Delivering sustainable and affordable access to clean water and electricity provides the foundation on which communities can evolve and transform. Sustainable access to water gives women their time and energy back, as they are no longer forced to walk an average of 6km everyday to fetch water, often with their children in tow to help. 

Electricity creates opportunities for everyone to be healthier and more economically productive. After establishing a foundation with water and electricity, further investments can more effectively and efficiently be made in agriculture, housing, education, and medical clinics to truly empower vulnerable communities, and ultimately  break the cycle of poverty.
