Roy White has over 35 years of experience in international education and leadership, and has headed five international schools across five countries, including two as Founding Principal. He is trained to chair accreditation teams for an international educational organization and has served on several school boards and regional groups, including in Hong Kong, the Netherlands, and Latvia.
Roy is currently the Head of The Aga Khan Academy Maputo, located in Mozambique. This innovative international school admits students based entirely on merit, with the majority receiving financial assistance. As a day and residential IB World School, the Academy hosts students from 23 countries and offers scholarships for those with the potential to excel in academics or sports. The school’s mission is to cultivate ethical, multilingual leaders of tomorrow while providing professional development opportunities for approximately 250 local teachers and principals annually.
Additionally, Roy helped to start up an energy company and led the very first school for the arts in China. He completed his teacher training in England, and earned a B.Sc. (Hons) in mathematics and a master's degree in education from universities in Canada and Hong Kong.
