Peter Storment is an investment banker, corporate finance expert and entrepreneur with over 30 years of experience leveraging these skills to create new economies, grow businesses and establish infrastructure across several industries in North America, Latin America and Africa.
Peter is Founder and Co-CEO of Cedar Street Capital LLC, where he has been involved in all aspects of the firm’s management and growth, with a particular focus on new deal generation since 2010. Over the course of his career, Peter has been driven by two core interests: the rise of new, game-changing technologies, and the emergence of new destinations for investment, and he has worked to blend the two whenever possible. He began his career as a high-tech equity analyst for a mutual fund and moved to investment banking to focus on emerging technologies in software, biotech, alternative energy and infrastructure globally.
Peter worked at several New York based boutique investment banks including Stanhope Capital and Nova Capital Partners where he was Director of Investment banking, and it is at Nova that Peter began his work in Frontier Markets. In 2003, Peter began his cross-border work by arranging funding for one of Africa’s first Fintech companies, Blue Financial Services. Over the next several years, Peter focused on developing his Africa-centric business and related deals, including a key role in recapitalizing Nigeria’s banking sector, which culminated in a $161 million preferred equity capital raise for Intercontinental Bank (ultimately absorbed by Access Bank).
Peter holds a Bachelor's degree in History & Literature from Harvard University and an MBA in Finance and International Business from NYU’s Stern School of Business.
